– Presentation of the National Pavilion
The National Pavilion stands as a living echo of Tunisia, resonating with delicacy and strength. The façade, like an invitation, blends the purity of jasmine—symbolizing hospitality—with the boldness of authentic mosaic, guardian of millennia-old tales. This tableau rests on a scarlet-red base, a perfect fusion of Tunisian and Japanese colors, uniting two worlds in subtle harmony.
The Pavilion highlights Tunisia’s cultural, civilizational, and traditional heritage through the display of traditional and artistic artifacts that express the country’s diverse cultural identity. Artisans from El Jem, Djerba, Gafsa, Le Kef, and Nabeul are participating. Exhibits include artistic paintings arranged in a mosaic representing the ancient olive tree “Al-Chraff” from El Alâa (estimated to be over 2,500 years old), hand-painted ceramic tiles from Nabeul, handcrafted bedding, olive wood objects, and traditional crafts used as components of the Pavilion.
The Pavilion’s concept focuses on three pillars: optimal water resource management and use; food heritage and local products for better health; and progress in science and medicine.
– Architectural Components of the National Pavilion
The innovative architectural project of the Pavilion invites visitors on a cultural journey where history is reflected through a contemporary lens. This immersive journey includes:
The Echo: The first stop, where Carthaginian mask holograms come to life, telling ancient stories. Each drop of water is shown as a treasure, reminding us of ancestral wisdom in managing water in arid lands. Echoes of ancestors rise, warning against modern ills: pollution, climate change, and the degradation of precious resources.
The Momentum: A transition into vastness. Under a starry sky, the Tunisian desert stretches in silence. This space symbolizes the human condition between past and future. “Magic boxes” will share captivating stories from the past.
The Awakening: A pristine space. Here, modern Tunisia shines as a hub of knowledge, open to innovation and global collaboration. Every image and sound pays tribute to a nation moving forward, grounded in deep roots.
As visitors exit, they pass through a jasmine garden, intoxicated by the scent of ephemeral blossoms—a final breath of simple, pure joy. This journey will remain etched in their memory as an echo of Tunisia resonating through time and space.
In this vibrant sanctuary, the flavors of Tunisian cuisine enchant the senses: each dish an ode to the land, blending health and delight.
